Springtime Autumn

It was a strange sensation as we walked through glorious warm Autumn sunshine in the Pilat, Massif Central.  It’s as if the leaves are not quite sure what season they are in and therefore no exceptionally strong patches of Autumn colours in normal fusion.  So I endeavoured to represent what was happening.

This is the result.  The painting is A4 size on bamboo/cotton paper using the addition of gold and silver markers.  I am happy with the result, although if you had asked me half way through, you wouldn’t have detected any confidence at that stage.  Sometimes you just need to pay no attention to the thought war that can be a constant battle on some pieces of work.
